Opening Plot Synopsis: The film opens with a flashback of the end of the film with Harry, (Trey’s old best friend) rolling on the floor covered in blood having been stabbed. Parallel editing is used, showing Dave on the floor is considerable pain interlinked with Trey running from the scene of the crime. Over the top of this we can hear someone calling an ambulance and as the scene progresses we see flashback shots of Trey in trouble at school, making it clear to the audience he is the main character. In addition the voice-over used is of Trey's telling the audience his situation and is done in a way which makes it seem like a confession as he tells then his story.

During the production of our film, we ensured to use a variety of different shot types in order to engage the audience and maintain the attention of the viewer. By using a mix of different shots, interlinked with each other, we were able to make the scene appeal and seem more fast paced, in order to create a sense of excitement and the feeling of urgency, this being our initial engaging factor for the audience. We did this, due to the fact we had seen it done in the films we had deconstructed during the planning process. Films such as Guy Ritchie's 'Snatch' have done this to a high degree with a variety of ambitious and fast moving shots cutting quickly in the opening sequence to create a fast-pace and to grab the attention of the viewer. However due to us having a relatively low access to high quality software and filming technology, the shot types we have use are relatively basic in comparison to 'Snatch', this being as they have a huge budget and access to top quality software and filming devices.
